Fashion designer Calvin Klein is known for his line of menswear and womenswear. He also designs home collections, fragrances and cosmetics. As a teenager, he developed a passion for fashion and drawing, often spending hours on end sketching women in suits and dresses. Calvin Klein was educated at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York from 1959-62. He then acted as assistant to Dan Millstein for two years, before becoming an independent designer. Inspired by the fresh and unpretentious style of New York"s urban youth, Klein set out to launch his own clothing company in 1968. Klein’s simple, elegant designs are worn by many celebrities.
